Jagran Institute of Management and Mass Communication (JIMMC) was established by the Jagran Education Foundation, of the Jagran Group, in 2004. As stalwarts in the field of media, the group realised that in the current scenario of media boom, there is going to be an increasing demand for media professionals with quality and aptitude. To meet this demand for professionally trained media persons, the trust laid the foundation of JIMMC, with its first campus in Noida, followed by another, at Kanpur, the next year. The institute is a platform for students to acquire practical skills along with a strong theoretical base.

The Institute’s aim is to prepare professionals capable of meeting the fast changing needs of the Industry. We offer courses in different branches of media, Print Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Advertising, PR and Event Management. The institute runs Diploma and PG Diploma programmes as well. The goal of these programmes is to prepare students not only for entry level jobs but also to mould them into thinking strategically about the Media Industry of tomorrow.

For all these courses, the academic calendar is prepared in a way so as to provide a blend of theoretical inputs and an extensive hands-on training in various programmes. Each programme is guided by faculty comprising members either from Industry and/or with academic experience. In addition to this, eminent media professionals of different streams and expertise are invited regularly, to address students on latest Industry trends and its demands. The uniqueness of this Institute lies in its training methods that are highly interactive and revolve around solving real life crises picked from relevant industry cases. Apart from this, students also get an opportunity for internship with the leading names of the media industry as a part of the curriculum.

JIMMC with these programmes has evolved into a unique institute in this part of the globe with its world-class facilities, low student/mentor ratio, state-of-the-art facilities and experienced faculty. In keeping with the tradition of academic rigour, the institute has been regularly organising activities like seminars, conferences and training programmes on contemporary issues and topics. Dignitaries as well as prominent media personalities are invited to share their views and hold public discussions. The members of our faculty have also participated and delivered at national as well as international forums.

To sum up, I would like to say that JIMMC began with a simple objective: To create a talent bank that would cater to the increasing demand for trained communication professionals. Our students of Print, Television, Radio, Internet Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations have found jobs in their respective fields, some of them having joined even the top most companies in their streams.
